After several warm-up events including guest lectures for Guelph political science and geography courses, a presentation to the U of G Debate Club, and a brown bag seminar related to the book for the Gordon S. Lang School of Business, Hidden Politics hit the road in December 2024. First up was a visit to David Peck’s podcast Face2Face on Hidden Politics - Hidden Agendas. Then, on 3 December @ 12pm, Cooperation Canada hosted "Sustainable Development Goals: Examining Missteps & Charting a Path Forward". The following day the Group of 78 hosted a virtual presentation of the "United Nations Sustainable Development Goals: Hidden Politics and How to Hold the UN Accountable" that is now available to view on YouTube. Check out some shots of the book that people have sent me from Tanzania, the Philippines, Finland, the UK, and Zambia....Events related to Hidden Politics are ongoing in 2025. On 10 January, Dr. Maïka Sondarjee welcomed a presentation to her third-year course at the University of Ottawa on "Misdirection, Mismeasurement, and the Challenge for Global Development."
Upcoming events:
19 March - the University of Regina will host a webinar on "Why We Need an Independent Commission and Sustainable Development Progress: Some Reflections on the SDG Targets and Indicators linked to Responsible Consumption and Production."
29 April - I will visit Dr. Meredith Gore's course at the University of Maryland to talk about how "Students can clean up the SDG mess and make a difference for people and the planet."

One of these things (is not like the others)....one of these things just isn't the same....
